Today’s FBI is an intelligence-driven and threat-focused national security organization with both intelligence and law enforcement responsibilities that is staffed by a dedicated cadre of more than 30,000 agents, analysts and other professionals who work around the clock and across the globe to protect the United States from terrorism, espionage, cyber attacks and major criminal threats, and to provide its many partners with services, support, training and leadership.
The SD-LECC's mission is to protect the people and infrastructure of San Diego and Imperial Counties from criminal activity, terrorism, and potential hazards by effective information sharing and timely/relevant analysis and dissemination of intelligence to local state, tribal and federal partners. The SD-LECC is an integral component of The National Fusion Center Enterprise, and is one of 79 DHS-designated centers in the United States. Fusion centers serve as focal points within the state and local environment for the receipt, analysis, gathering, and sharing of threat-related information between the federal government and state, local, tribal, territorial (SLTT) and private sector partners.
The San Diego Office of Homeland Security oversees the City's emergency Prevention and Protection Program; Mitigation and Finance Program; Response and Recovery Program; and leads regional efforts for FEMA's Urban Area Security Initiative. The Office of Homeland Security strives to promote a secure and resilient City with the capabilities required across the whole community to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk. The San Diego Diplomacy Council is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization whose mission is to create professional, cultural and educational experiences that connect people and organizations, driving positive changes in themselves, their community and the world. The Ready Carlsbad Business Alliance (RCBA) is a committee within the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, and represents a relationship between the City of Carlsbad, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and local businesses. Its mission is to promote business emergency preparedness, continuity of operations and community recovery through services, educational programs and cooperative partnerships. It achieves this through regular meetings, often with unique subject matter expert speakers, and with emergency preparedness related workshops and symposia. With over 25 special events to date, topics have included business considerations for wildfires, earthquakes, counterterrorism, workplace violence, active shooter, cybersecurity, threat assessment, bystander training (including stop-the-bleed), and most recently Covid-19.
